National News: The Bombay High Court on Monday made strict remarks on the ongoing agitation under the leadership of Manoj Jarange Patil to demand Maratha reservation. The court stated that this protest is no longer peaceful and that the conditions outlined in it are being openly violated. The court directed the Maharashtra government and the police administration to clear all roads in Mumbai of protesters by September 2 and restore the city's general system.
The High Court clearly stated that Jarange and his supporters were allowed only to the movement in the Azad Maidan. The court directed that the situation of ongoing dharna and jam in other parts of Mumbai should be abolished immediately. At the same time, the administration was ordered to stop the new protesters on the boundaries of the city so that the situation in Mumbai does not deteriorate.
During the special hearing, a bench of Justice Ravindra Ghoga and Gautam Uncle clarified that Jarang was allowed only one-day hunger strike, which was later extended by one more day. The court said that no indefinite hunger strike was allowed. Not only this, but a maximum of 5,000 people were allowed in the movement, while thousands of people gathered outside the Azad Maidan and on the streets of Mumbai. The court questioned the Maharashtra government about what steps have been taken so far to control the situation. The next hearing of the case will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday.

Heavy traffic jams were seen on important roads like Marg and the Mahapalika route. The crowd of passengers increased at the CSMT railway station, causing the employees to go to the office for hours. Many protesters also tried to stop buses and private vehicles.
Despite the heavy deployment of the police force, the protesters ignored the security instructions. Some groups tried to enter the Bombay Stock Exchange but were stopped at the gate itself. In view of the situation, the police diverted traffic to CSMT, and many of the best buses had to be cancelled or run on alternative routes.
Significantly, on August 26, the High Court had said that it is not acceptable to move public places indefinitely. Demonstrations can be done only with the permission of the administration and within the stipulated time. Despite this, the agitation led by Jaranga is exiting the boundaries and disturbing the entire city. The court has made it clear that a commercial capital like Mumbai cannot be stalled and the law should be followed.
